The natives had devolved from a once-mighty race Andross put his great intellect to deciphering their ancient ruins and forgotten technologies. He was shocked to find a race of anthropomorphic lizards living in the depths of the planet. Most scientists, Andross included, thought Venom an uninhabited world. The trial ended with Andross being exiled from Corneria to the barren world of Venom for the rest of his days. An investigation of the "accident" led back to him. disappeared, along with half the asteroid belt, into a black hole created by the Gravity Bomb. Thanks to Andross' sabotage, the experimental weapon went off mid-flight. was given the task of hauling the newly-developed Gravity Bomb to a field laboratory in the Meteo Asteroid Belt for testing. Fox Sr., still unaware of his wife's affair to start with, was blissfully ignorant of the danger when he volunteered for Andross' assignment. Refusing to admit defeat, Andross bitterly hatched a new plot. alike, it was Vixy and not the elder McCloud who fell victim to Andross' car bomb. His bid to keep her was to remove her husband from the equation. Vixy regretted her actions, but the arrogant Andross refused to let her go. Vixy and Fox had recently had a son together as well. There was just one hang-up to their relationship: She was already married to Fox McCloud Sr. He also met, and fell in love with Vixy Reinard. In time he became Head Scientist of the Cornerian Academy, his focus having changed to completely military technologies. Unknown to anyone, Andross swore a vow of revenge that day. Yet Andross turned his back on serving his beloved homeworld when his parents were killed, victims of a cruel military experiment by the Cornerian government itself. His brilliant mind was soon well-known across the Lylat System, mostly for his medical work. Andross followed in his robo-parents' footprints as a scientist. This time, he has been completely destroyed. With his newfound power, Andross plans to obliterate the entire Lylat System for good, but Fox defeats him once again. ![]() Once he imprisons Krystal, a friend of Fox's, he is able to generate the energy he needs from the Krazoa Spirits and restore himself to full power. Andross manipulates the dinosaur leader, General Scales, by making him collect various artifacts infused with the spirits of the Krazoa. The Sharp Claw dinosaur clan keeps him alive, but all attempts at a complete revival are for naught. In his weak state, Andross takes refuge inside Krazoa Palace. Fox defeats his brain form, causing Andross to self-destruct at the end of the battle. Fox's first encounter with Andross is in his gigantic brain form on the planet of Venom. A traitor, Pigma Dengar, betrays the Star Fox team and delivers his friends into Andross' hands, resulting in Andross killing James McCloud, and proclaiming himself emperor of the entire Lylat System.ĭetermined to avenge his father by destroying Andross, and in turn save the Lylat system, a new Star Fox team is formed under Fox McCloud. He plots to dominate the entire Lylat System by building his own army but soon thereafter, Star Fox is sent to investigate. As punishment, he is banished to the waste planet, Venom. In the first game, he takes the form of a large metallic head covered in cube shapes. The most recognizable and famous form is his disembodied head with two floating hands. Andross is the most often reoccurring enemy in the Star Fox games, and the final boss in Star Fox, Star Fox 64, and Star Fox Adventures.Īndross appears in several different forms throughout the Star Fox series.
